St Michael's Home offers residential care for abandoned babies and children, and functions as a placement agency for domestic and international adoption. It works with women and children in slums of Varthur and Uttarahalli constituencies as a part of its community development programme. It runs 12 balwadis for younger children, and helps to enrol older children in nearby government schools. It conducts supplementary coaching classes for school going children, and provides guidance and assistance for higher education. It provides vocational training for school drop-outs. It has two centres for working children, including a forum for them to meet once in two months and attend to their issues and problems. It also conducts regular camps and workshops on personality development, value inculcation, character building, legal education and the dignity of labour. It also offers counselling and alternative medicine, including homeopathy, through its Holistic Healing Centre.
